  • Banking & Payment Scams: “Your account has been locked — click to verify your identity.”
  • Fake Prizes & Surveys: “You’ve won a $500 gift card — claim now.”
  • Workplace Scams: “Quick favor: Can you grab gift cards for the team?”

How to Protect Yourself

  • Use credit cards (not debit) for online purchases.
  • Shred sensitive documents — when in doubt, shred it.
  • Only use secure websites (https://).
  • Monitor your credit regularly — you're entitled to 3 free reports/year.
